1. I prefer short hair to long hair. Hair on or in my face makes me insane and pony-tails give
me a severe headache. Of course, hubby prefers it long and I've tried to grow it out for him, but it never lasts.
2. I am still friends with my very first bestest friend. We became friends when I was 6 years old and 38 years later we are still friends.
3. I am extremely shy. I didn't use to be, but I am now. Sometimes I come across as a snob and although I'm really not, I am terrified that people won't like me for who I am. Most of this came from when I was hurt deeply by someone who was so close to me that I thought of her as a sister and not a friend. The things she said to me still hurt me. I know I should get over it, but for whatever reason I can't.
4. I suffer from depression and anxiety. (this probably isn't a surprise). I take medication for this condition and it has made me gain a great deal of weight. I'm very self-conscious about this because I was always super thin.
5. I wanted to have 4 children. Okay, well not always, but I did for a while. I wanted my youngest baby to be twins and when he wasn't I really wanted to have another baby. Hubby didn't quite feel the same way though. Guess who won.?
6. I am the oldest of three girls. I have 2 younger sisters, but we really don't have a relationship. They have made choices in their lives that make what they do day to day completely different from my own life. Basically we have nothing in common.
7. I am a true homebody. I love to be home put-zing around, maybe reading or stitching or making things look lovely and cozy.
8. I graduated high school in 3 years. I didn't really like high school and the b.s. that came along with it all. I wish I would have felt like I fit in, but I didn't and was thrilled to be done.
9. After high school I went to cosmetology school. I finished it, but never did it professionally.
10. I've never lived outside of Illinois. In fact, I've never lived more than 40 minutes away from my childhood home. In fact, currently I live a couple of blocks away from my parents.

I'm shy, too and I rather have my hair short for the very reasons you do. My husband prefers it long, but it doesn't stay long too long. :) I used to be very depressed and anxious until diagnosed with celiac disease. I don't need meds, though, because all it took was getting off gluten. There is a blood test to find out if you have the antibodies for gluten. Thanks for sharing yourself with us.
Let's see here...we have some things in common! I live in Illinois too...I am the oldest, but I have two brothers....I have anxiety too and take medication for it! ANXIETY ummm SUCKS!!!!! However I'm not shy! CHEERS! Michele
Aw, thanks for sharing this!
You're right, we are freakishly similar in some ways.
I've never lived outside of Ohio, and I live 45 min away from where I grew up. And I live 9 houses down from my in-laws, and home is my favorite place to be.
Two sons and a daughter? Check.
Short hair? Check.
Love crafting? Check.
We truly are chicka-sister-friends!
just visiting; enjoyed reading this entry; I think there's a lot of us that didn't like high school; yet some think its the best 4 years of their lives; never could figure that one out
cute blog you have :)
betty
That was nice to read and learn a little more about you...I never fit in at high school either, if I could have done it in 3 years I would have. Believe it or not I am pretty shy too, I warm up after a while, but at first I can be really quiet. I was super quiet in high school...so funny that I can chatter up a storm on my blog..uh oh, and I a false advertisement? HA! Hope you had a good weekend! XO
