Change...

CHANGE, v.t.

1. To cause to turn or pass from one state to another; to alter, or make different; to vary in external form, or in essence; as, to change the color or shape of a thing; to change the countenance; to change the heart or life.

Change is an interesting concept.

I have declared 2010 the year of change.

2009 was the year of chaos. Everything was out of my control.

Change is about making things different.

Change is not easy.

Change takes time.

Change takes effort.

Change takes prayer.

What changes have been laid upon your heart to make in 2010?

oh yes...change is sometimes good...although I struggle with it...I think it is great...but more of my "changes" for the new year are just goals mainly that I want to accomplish...of course there are many things I would like to change too, but I have found sometimes for me when I accomplish some of my goals the changes happens along the way too.

Love this post! I thought about change too yesterday and tried to repaint my wall in the kitchen. Not gonna happen...the sample square that I tried turned out too brown so for now I will leave it alone...smiles. Happy New Year!! ((hugs))

yes, Change is hard but often needed. Now is the time to reflect and think about changes! I am so glad for your post and making me pause to actually write down some changes I would like to make for 2010. First, I hope to improve on my health, like many.. being smarter when eating and getting back on the modified exercise train (I kinda jumped off of the train in 09..), Secondly, I want to have my grown family over more often than just special occasions. Maybe a monthly cookout? That would be nice..I could go on and on but lastly I will say I would love to change how I approach each day. Not to chase my way through it, rather linger and savor it. Like it should be. Will try my best to make these changes! Love your blog and read it often! Faye

Well, I've made three resolutions this year - go back to vegetarian eating. eat healthy/exercise to lose 100 pounds. do 10 minutes of yoga/meditating every day. And after reading what you and FayeRaye wrote, I'd like to add a fourth one - Spend more time with the people that really matter to me and really enjoy that time. I'll probably have to cut back on activities with acquaintances, but that's a good thing, because I've found myself saying yes to more and more things I don't enjoy and that's not how I want to live.

Oh and I love the cute pic at the top of the post! I got a vintage typewriter for Christmas and I love how it looks on my antique desk!

Wow...you have so made me start thinking and I am embarrassed to say that I hadn't given 'change' the attention it deserves in my life. I know for one thing that I need to get out more. I am sort of a homebody and lately I have resented having so many social situations. That may just be laziness on my part, but it gets boring sometimes. Like the others that commented, I'd like to have plans with my kids instead of just seeing them when they 'drop in'. And one thing I'd REALLY like to change is guilt over the stupidest things...not making dinner, not doing all the laundry, not handing out money...I am just too hard on myself when it comes to what I do and don't do for people!

Thanks for making me think. And BTW, we are fellow Illinoisans!!

My B/P is back to normal as well.
I'm feeling blessed and grateful.
