I have recently finished reading a couple of books.
DRY by Augusten Burroughs
This is the sequel to Running With Scissors. Considering how torn I was about my feelings about Running With Scissors, I'm still kinda stunned I even attempted reading DRY, but I am so happy that I did! This book is obviously the follow-up to Running With Scissors. The book picks up many years later, when he is an adult. The book covers his alcoholism, relationships, and his continuing battle of dealing with his childhood. I really poured through this book, anxiously anticipating whatever would happen next. This writer has a gift for drawing the reader in and walking him through the stories that are his life. I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately downloaded his next book, Wolf at the Table.

Sunday at Tiffany's by James Patterson
This was truly a light and fluffy read. I wasn't certain I would like it, but I did. It was cute and unpredictable and the storyline was truly interesting. My heart was truly blessed by reading this lovely story. A quick read and definitely not classic literature, but a fun read all the same.
I also watched a couple of movies.

I watched The Reader
Okay, I have read this book, more than once, and I was really skeptical about how the movie would be. Well, all I can say is WOW. I thought this movie was amazing!! The book touched my heart in such a way that I just turned off the television and sat and basked in the moment of awe that i was feeling. GREAT movie.

I also watched The Women.
This movie had the most amazing cast! I was blown away by the big names in this movie. But, this movie did not disappoint. It was an awesome chick flick. Funny, emotional, well acted, etc. Truly a great movie to enjoy, laugh about, and love the bond of women. I adore Meg Ryan, always have, and she did not disappoint in this movie either.
I've got a book or two and a couple of movies lined up for this week, so pop by next week to see what I thought of them.

I saw the Reader movie about a month ago. It was definitely different. Very sad at the end.

These are great reviews - I love when I can get the inside scoop and it not be from Ebert :)
I'll have to check out James Patterson's new one for sure.
