What Rocks Your World???

For Christmas I have asked for (and shhhhh I know I'm getting ) a new i-pod.  I wanted the i-Pod Classic because it has a HUGE memory (120 GB) which means it holds 30,000 songs.

I'm kind of a music junkie.  I like all kinds of music too.  For example, on my computer right now I have music by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Outkast, Glen Miller, Patsy Cline, Beethoven, Weezer, System of a Down, Cher, Neil Diamond, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, Barlowgirl, Toby Mac, Jars of Clay, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and Chris Rice.  I even have some Operas and Tenors and Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin.  Yup, I love them all.
One thing I have always hated about CD's is that you can only rotate so many and then you have to change them.  When I discovered the i-Pod I was VERY excited about the possibilities.  You can have all your music in one gadget and you can listen to whatever you want, whenever you want at whate
ver time you want.  I like to mix it up quite a bit, but I don't always want to wear ear-buds.  So, that's where my next "gotta have" comes into play.

I really really want the BOSE docking station for my i-Pod.  Can you imagine being able to rock out throughout the house and outside and use a remote control to chose genre, artist, song, etc.?  We're talking one seriously awesome contraption.

I am so anxiously awaiting Christmas so that I can put my music onto the i-pod and rock out.

So, all of this really got me thinking...
Do you love music?
Do you love all kinds of music?
Do you rock out?
What music do you consider a "must have" on your i-Pod or in your CD library?
Do you do Christmas
Music?
Calypso type music in the summer?
Beach Boys?
Celtic music for St. Patrick's Day?
Do you only listen to one genre of music?

I'm quite anxious to see / read everyone's favorites, must haves and preferences.  My eldest son has also developed a very wide appreciation for music.  He loves crooning, but also enjoys Kenny G, hard rock, rap, etc.  My youngest son loves Elvis, the Beatles, Aerosmith, Bob Marley, as well as Worship Music.  My daughter really loves pop music, but also loves The Doors, AC/DC, and classical music.  So, you can imagine the variety of cd's in our library.
So, do you i-Pod?
Do you dock?

Please leave a comment so I can learn a bit about you from your music loves or perhaps music doesn't rock your world at all.

Love the i-pod post. I haven't ventured into the pod yet but got one for my music loving husband for his birthday on the 7th. It seems to be the most favorite gift I've even gotten him. I'm looking at all the pod accessories for Christmas gifts.

I got an ipod a couple of years ago. I got the nano, which now seems to be getting too small for me! And I got the Bose sound dock (it cost more than my ipod!) I love it, and would recommend it to anyone :) I love so many kinds of music. While perusing itunes recently I remembered how I really like 80's country, which seems wierd to me as I have been mostly listening to CCM lately. I adore The Police and Sting, and Chris Tomlin, Nanci Griffith, Paul Simon and George Strait- how's that for eclectic?

I actually do not have an ipod or do I want one. :) I am probably not very normal that way. :) I actually only listen to music in the car.

Oh...you BET I IPOD!! I have a ton of playlists from Christmas to prenatal class (I teach) to mood music to dinner party music to classical accoustic. I have slowly been adding all of my cd's I have...and also have down loaded several books that came in very handy on long overseas trips.

My newest fave (recieved for my bday) is the EOS. It is a wireless soundsystem that can surround the entire home in my music!

Hi Suzann!

I love my iPod, and I dock on the Bose under cabinet model mounted in my kitchen. Love that thing!

I listen all day long, to podcasts, worship music, and anything from guns n roses to Nickleback to Tim McGraw.

I know you are going to have fun with you gift!

Stay warm today!

I bought Joe an iPod a couple of years ago (a nano). Slowly, it has become mine (the ultimate goal of that particular gift). I have an iHome in my kitchen, but I would love a Bose dock in my scrapbook room. I don't use it to it's full potential yet...

Right now it is filled with my Christian rock favorites: TobyMac, Jeremy Camp, Big Daddy Weave...I love it, and so do the kids. Gabe and Isabel rock it out to TobyMac!

I do like all kinds of music, too, though. Between Michelle and Lula, I learned to like some Muse and other newer bands lately.

I'm glad you got (are getting) an iPod for Christmas!

I am a dinosaur from the past...I have no Ipod mp3player or any of those other fine gadgets..heck I finally got a camera on my phone for the first time. I do love music...all types..except Heavy Metal, and rap. I gotta be able to understand the words..or it's just not for me.
