Happy Halloween!!!

This is our Punch for the class. The hand of ice fell apart and looked really creepy.

We made eyeballs for the children to eat.

And Orange - O - Lanterns filled with fruit to enjoy

Here's Thomas and his friend who is dressed as Freddy Krueger

A Sprinkle of This, A Dash of That

Life has been busy. Chaotic. Crazy. So, what's been going on? Here's a few things...

I got a little gift...
I got the Coach Book Tote that I wanted for Christmas - Happy Halloween!

I've been working on some projects in the garage (which is a mess!!!)

I'm refinishing a bookcase

And I'm refinishing an antique dresser. And a bed too - not sure where those
pictures disappeared to.

I made my eldest son a costume for Halloween, Max from Where The Wild Things Are

I wanted a white sweatsuit, he insisted on Grey. He's going to some
college parties this weekend. I'm certain the costume will get trashed.
(pay no attention to the messy house)

So...what have YOU been up to lately?

Scheduled and Unscheduled

My schedule has been out of whack for quite some time now.

Does this ever happen to you?

You finally get it right. The laundry is done, the house is clean (or clean enough), you've checked things off on the do-to list and then you still have an hour or so each evening just for you.

Then you don't.

It doesn't seem to happen a little bit, it happens in a huge chunk.

You discover you're buried.

Why does this happen?

Am I alone in this?

Today I am sitting here looking around at the tasks that lie before me and I'm feeling overwhelmed.

Not completely, but enough.

The next three days will be chaos.

Then it should be okay.

It's time to schedule things and get them done.

Does this happen to you?

Do you feel this way sometimes?

How do you handle it?

If this never happens to you, how do you prevent it?

I may have the flu, or a cold, or something all together different, but I feel icky.

Can't rest. I've got costumes to finish and parties to throw.

How is your week coming along?

Half Full or Half Empty?

Life isn't perfect.

Sometimes it's not even good.

The challenge seems to be in maintaining a positive attitude despite whatever troubles come your way.

Things have been a challenge for me the past few years.

Some days my attitude has been less than positive.

Lately I've been making an extra effort to find something positive in every day.

Simple changes in the way I face each day.

Twice this week I have been made a proud mama.

My eldest son chose to go to college. He filled out papers to get the funds he needs to make his dream come true. He admitted he was wrong in the choices he has made in the past couple of years. He's maturing. I'm proud.

My daughter was asked to participate in a leadership summit. She was the only girl on her squad chosen. It is a huge honor. She also qualified to be on the competition cheer squad. She has worked very hard at this. If her tumbling continues and progresses she will be on the Varsity Squad next year. She's a good kid. I'm proud.

My littlest guy is the cherry on my sundae. He always makes me smile. He's full of love and funny thoughts.

I'm trying. It's not easy.

One day at a time.

My glass is half full.

Sunday Blessings

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity,
but of power, love,
and self-discipline.

The Car Auctiion

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Meccum Auto Auction. It was such a fun experience!! Here are some photos that I took of the cars.

Look who I met! He was working at the auction and I, being a huge Big Brother fan, had a wee meltdown and Chicken George was so kind. He came over, gave me a hug and took a photo with me. For silly ole me, it was a big moment.
